  • John McElwain Plant Improvement Project

    This project is currently in the design phase. The following improvements will be completed as part of the Plant Improvement Project:
    • Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR)
    • High Efficiency Turbo Blowers
    • New Final Clarifier Inboard Weirs
    • New Mixed Liquor Division Box Gates

    This project will begin in the 2027 with a estimated completion date of 2030

  • New Harger Road Lift Station

    This lift station is in Oak Brook. The old lift station has been torn down and has been relandscaped . Below is a list of new features and improvements:
    • New submersible pumps
    • Modernized controls
    • Bank-up Generator
    This project began in the Winter 2021 with an estimated completion date of Winter 2024.

  • Ginger Creek South Lift Station Replacement

    This lift station is in Oak Brook. The design phase has been completed and is currently going out to bid. The old lift station, which was a can-style lift station, is being replaced with a new submersible pump lift station. Below is a list of new features and improvements:
    • New Submersible Pumps
    • New Controls
    • Back-Up Generator
    This project began in the Winter 2021 with a estimated completion date of Spring 2024.

  • 2023-2024 Sewer Lining Project

    The proposed work is officially known as the 2023 -2024 Sewer Lining Program. The work includes an estimated 8,753 Linear Feet of 8-inch sewer with an estimated 100 service reconnections, which is contained within this Contract. Included in work are all applicable sewer cleaning, flow bypassing, televised inspections, protrusion removal, cured-in-place lining, service reconnections, and any and all additional work to complete this defined scope.     This project began in the Spring 2023 with a completion date of Winter 2023/2024.

  • Ginger Creek North Force Main

    The Ginger Creek North Force Main project will include the installation of a sanitary force main via open-cut and trenchless construction methods, and erosion controls and minor restoration in both roadway and parkway areas. This will be 1,065 feet of 8 inch force main located on Arden Court in Oak Brook.
    This project began in the Summer 2022 with a estimated completion date of Spring 2024.

  • Bar Screen #1 Replacement

    Bar Screen #1 was originally purchased in 2000 and was showing signs of deterioration. The new replacement was showcase the following:
    • Stainless-Steel Made
    • Improved Bar Rack
    • Updated Control System
    This project began in the Spring 2023 with a estimated completion date of Winter 2024.

  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Blower #4 Replacement

    The original VFD has failed causing FCWRD to revert back to the old centrifical blowers, which are very inefficient and only used in emergencies. The new VFD will replace the old failed VFD and will include updated software.
    This project began in the Spring 2023 with a estimated completion date of Winter 2023/24.

  • Intermediate Pump Station Pumps #2 & #3 Replacement Addition

    The Plant current harnesses two screw pumps that are both 50+ years old. Intermediate Pump Station Pumps #2 & #3 will be added to Pump #1, which was added in 2017, in order to take the screw pumps out of commission. The design phase has been completed and will go out to bid in Spring 2024. These new pumps will feature the following:
    • All pumps will now be submersible effluent pumps rather than screw pumps.
    • Modernized Controls
    This project began in the Summer 2023 with a completion date of Summer 2024.

  • New Steeplechase Lift Station Replacement

    The Steeplechase Lift Station that receives flow from an 8 inch gravity sewer and currently has two dry pit pumps with a nominal capacity of 75 gpm each at 26 feet of head. The station accepts flow from approximately 30 homes. FCWRD will be making improvements to include conversion to wet pit submersible pumps. This lift station is in Oak Brook at the intersection of Harger Road & Coventry Lane.
    This project began in the Fall 2023 with a completion date of Fall 2024.
