Flagg Creek Water Reclamation District from time to time will smoke test sanitary sewers for defects in areas with above normal water infiltration. Sanitary sewers are constructed for wastewater only and not for storm water and residential and commercial runoff infiltration. Please see the "Definition" hyperlink for a description of what smoke testing entails.
In a joint effort, smoke testing issues discovered during the smoke testing process are corrected or attempted to be minimized by the District and its residences to reduce infiltration of storm water and excess runoffs entering the collection system.
Currently, no area within the District is being smoke tested. Issues discovered in previous smoke tested areas are in the process of being rectified.
Under the hyperlink "Testing Area" is an example of a letter issued to residences in the affected area and an example of a map of the smoke tested area.
